JUNIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT - GRS MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATES, INC.
Pay Range: $45,000 - $50,000
            
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary:
Responsible for compiling, analyzing, monitoring and accurately presenting financial data for the assigned communities. Responsibilities include maintaining good relations and communications with the field and corporate personnel and other involved parties. Position requires working with tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, and year-end audit preparation for multiple companies.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform accounting functions for assigned community including preparation of monthly financial package reports.
  • Perform monthly P&L and balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis for review.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and security deposit reconciliations.
  • Prepare work papers monthly and for audit purposes.
  • Maintain multiple schedules.
  • Review all invoices and compare amounts to executed contracts.
  • Provide year-end support of auditor requirements, which may include research and reconcilement.
  • Communicate and coordinate with field offices.
  • Perform additional assignments, as directed by manager.
  • Duties may entail special projects, some recurring and others a one-time event.
 
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with major in accounting required.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience.
  • Construction accounting experience preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Intermediate to advanced computer literacy, including experience in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Word processing.
  • CINC accounting software (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and see projects through to completion.
  • Ability to work flexible hours during peak times.
